It might seem like it’s way too soon to start talking about holiday travel, but not when it comes to crossing the border into Canada. If you are worried that a past conviction is going to cause issues at the border, and you’re planning to enter Canada for the end-of-year holidays, now is a great time to reach out to us to begin sorting your travel documents. While it’s possible to get expedited processing for work-related travel, it can take four to six months to process a waiver application for personal travel, such as holidays and vacations. Reach out to us now to ensure smooth vacation travels at the end of the year.

Maggie recently appeared on The Unstarving Musician podcast, which features conversations with thriving musicians and industry pros. In this episode, Maggie and host Robonzo discuss Canadian immigration law for artists.
What is Expedited Processing
When planning to travel for personal reasons, such as for vacation or to visit family, it can take up to six months for a Temporary Resident Permit, also known as a TRP or a waiver, to be processed.
However, if you’re traveling into Canada for work that has “commercial purpose,” expedited processing may be available, putting your TRP in your hands in as few as two to three weeks. Commercial purpose refers to the work done by critical members of a band or theater company, or an executive who is required for meetings.
The bottom line is this: You should explore what’s necessary to cross the border as soon as you know you need to travel. But when something pops up unexpectedly, all is not lost! Mundial Law is here to review your options. Simply contact us so we can help you see what’s possible.
