Andrew & Andrew on Texas Criminal Defense
Maggie joined hosts Andrew Herreth and Andrew Decker to discuss traveling to Canada, including what kind of convictions make people inadmissible and what someone can do who wants to travel up north to work on a music tour or film/TV production. Give it a listen!
Lawyer Talk: Off the Record with Steve Palmer
Did you know it’s illegal to take antlers from a national park and, if convicted, you’ll have trouble getting into Canada as a result? It’s true! What about charges without convictions? Maggie and Steve talk about this and much more on this episode. Check out the podcast here!
A common misconception is that a felony conviction is the only thing that makes it challenging for folks to travel into Canada. Similarly, many think an incident has to be recent to cause an issue. The truth is that pending charges, old convictions, and even situations that have been dismissed can still cause you to get turned around at the border. As Maggie likes to say, “If you’ve ever been fingerprinted, you might have an issue.”
The good news is that you can download your FBI report and contact Mundial Law for a free 15-minute consultation to see how it may impact your planned travel to Canada.
- Lots of news these days from our friends at Revolver Films (Toronto). This production company is crushing it, and we are happy to assist with getting talented directors and other film profesionals into Canada for their high-profile projects!
- Great to be connecting with clients and other professionals in the touring music industry through Bobnet and the Bobnet Facebook Group. It’s an invaluable resource to touring pros and young guns alike!
- In addition to helping entertainment professionals get into Canada, Mundial Law has been working with bands who are touring to Australia and New Zealand. In recent months, we have worked with people touring with Pearl Jam, Travis Scott, Chris Stapleton, Hollywood Undead, Drake, and Quavo. We have developed great working relationships with our visa counterparts with Live Nation in Australia and New Zealand, as well as independent promoters and visa agents.
Congratulations, Janet!
Congratulations to Mundial Law’s very own Janet Thompson-Price who recently received the Red Triangle Award from the YMCA of Southwestern New Brunswick for her “lifelong dedication to supporting newcomers and fostering belonging in Saint John,” which “makes her a true community champion.”
